Thoroughly understand what is included on your resume.
- Be prepared to explain your role whenever listing group achievements or goals achieved.
- Make clear the relevance between what you have done and the requirements of the position for which you are interviewing.
- Explain how your strengths and relevant skills have repeatedly surfaced:
- Education
- Work Experience
- Community Involvement
- Personal Interests
- Learn interviewer’s full name, the correct pronunciation and his or her title.
- Don’t answer questions with a simple “yes” or “no.” Explain whenever possible.
- Never make unnecessary derogatory remarks about your present or former employers. Stay positive.
- Ask questions. A lack of questions may be mistaken as a lack of interest.
