Emma S. Hibbs Distinguished Professor, Professor of Management, and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research. B.S. (Sociology, with honors) University of Iowa, 1971; M.A. (Anthropology) University of Iowa, 1972; Ph.D. (Sociology) University of Iowa, 1976. Professor Bluedorn is a former member of the Academy of Management's Board of Governors, and he is past division chair of the Academy's Organizational Behavior Division. His current research interests include a variety of topics within the areas of time-and-organization studies. He has published articles in many journals, including the Academy of Management Review, Human Relations, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Management, Organization Studies, Public Administration Review, Research in Organization Behavior, Research in the Sociology of Organizations, Academy of Management Executive, Research in Organizational Change and Development, and Strategic Management Journal. He has received many awards, including the William T. Kemper Fellowship for Excellence in Teaching, the Maxine Christopher Schutz Award for Distinguished Teaching, and the Governor's Award for Excellence in Teaching. Professor Bluedorn has made over 100 presentations around the nation and the world and has been a Visiting Fellow at Cornell University. His scholarly book, The Human Organization of Time: Temporal Realities and Experience, was published by Stanford University Press (2002). In 2006 he delivered the University of Missouri-Columbia's 21st Century Corps of Discovery Lecture.
