Working from Home

Installing Cisco VPN on your home computer or portable laptop allows you to connect to resources on the MU network from off campus. Virtual Private Networking (VPN) provides a method for faculty, staff, and students to access university-specific resources through an outside Internet Service Provider. VPN allows users to take advantage of their existing ISPs and broadband connections to access university-specific resources. VPN also provides encryption from the user's computer to the outside edge of Mizzou TigerNet. Use the VPN connection to access files and documents in your personal folder or in departmental folders, Print to network printers, and utilize window’s Remote Desktop. Remote Desktop is a feature in Windows that allows a machine to be run remotely from another windows machine over an internet connection.
