Accomodations for Consortium Faculty

Consortium faculty have TWO accommodation options.

Campus Residence Halls

All Consortium fellows will be housed in the newly constructed Discovery and Responsibility residence halls on Virginia Avenue. The Consortium faculty have the option to stay in the same accommodations. These residence halls are just a 10-minute walk from Cornell Hall and Reynolds Alumni Center; the Virginia Avenue covered parking garage is located directly opposite the halls. Both faculty and fellows will be housed in single rooms. Each private suite-style room connects to a bathroom shared only by the adjacent room. The accommodations come with air conditioning, Internet connection, and admission to the nearby Student Recreation/Fitness Center. Smoking and consumption of alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the residence halls. Sheets and towels will be provided, but room service and daily linen changes are not available. There is no TV in the rooms. A full breakfast is included at the Plaza 900 dining facility located just adjacent to the halls.

Residence hall rooms will be booked and paid for when registering for the Consortium. For Consortium faculty staying at the MU residential dorms, we will be collecting a registration fee of $75 per night that covers the cost of accommodation, a full breakfast, use of the recreation/fitness center, and parking at the Virginia Avenue garage (for those with a car).

Holiday Inn Select Executive Center

Consortium faculty may also choose to stay in the Holiday Inn Select Executive Center, located next to the Columbia Mall and about a fifteen-minute drive from Cornell Hall. A free shuttle bus will make regularly scheduled trips between Cornell Hall and the hotel for the duration of the Consortium. Amenities at the Holiday Inn include indoor and outdoor pools, a 3, 000 sq. foot fitness center with excellent equipment, laundry, free wireless Internet access in every room, and a number of business services such as copies, printing, etc.

Note: If you will be staying at the Holiday Inn, please make your hotel reservations directly. Rooms have been blocked for Consortium faculty at special rates ($90 per night; group code MRK) and will be held until March 31, 2008.
