Travel to Columbia, MO

Columbia, Missouri is about a 2-hour drive westwards from the St. Louis airport (STL) and a 2½-hour drive eastwards from the Kansas City airport (MCI). Columbia Regional Airport (COU) currently has four US Airways flights per day on weekdays and two flights per day on weekends, connecting through Kansas City only. However, there is considerable uncertainty at present on the continuance of this service. We hence recommend that you plan to fly into either St. Louis or Kansas City.

Getting to Columbia from St. Louis or Kansas City airports: You have three main options.

  1. Take the free bus service that we will be providing on June 4 from both St. Louis and Kansas City airports; the buses will depart for Columbia at 2 pm from St. Louis and at 2:30 pm from Kansas City. We will also be providing free bus service back to both airports for your return trip from Columbia on the morning of June 8. More details about this service will be provided later.

  2. Take the reliable Mo-X shuttle bus/van service. MO-X has several regularly scheduled trips per day between both airports and Columbia. MO-X will drop you at your destination in Columbia provided you specify door-to-door service. STL departure times: 8 am, 9:30 am, 11 am, 12:30 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm, 5 pm, 6 pm, 7 pm, 8:30 pm, and 10 pm. MCI departure times: 9 am, 11 am, 2 pm, 5 pm, and 8 pm. For reservations, visit Mo-X's website or call toll free (877) 669-4826. MO-X’s local phone number is (573) 256-1991.

  3. Rent a car at the airport and drive. If you will be driving, you may find the detailed maps and directions later in this document helpful. Parking is available at the residential accommodation sites.
