Mizzou '39 honors six Trulaske College of Business students

Columbia, Missouri — Six Trulaske College of Business students were named to the 2012 Mizzou '39 class this year. Each year, the Mizzou Alumni Association and the Alumni Association Student Board recognize 39 outstanding students for their academic achievement, leadership, and service to the university and the community. The number 39 is in honor of MU's founding in 1839.

Melanie Brown is a graduate student at the Trulaske College of Business majoring in business accountancy. She selected Professor William Moser, Associate Teaching Professor and Williams-Keepers Teaching Scholar, School of Accountancy at the Trulaske College of Business, as her mentor.

"I am honored to be a member of the Mizzou '39 Class of 2012. I am proud of what I've accomplished at Mizzou and am so thankful for the opportunities that have been presented to me at this great university," said Ms. Brown. "Success in the classroom and in outside activities has so much to do with having great mentors; I appreciate Professor Moser's support for me while in the School of Accountancy."

Sarah Ely is a senior at the Trulaske College of Business majoring in business marketing. She selected Dr. Daniel B. Turban, Stephen Furbacher Professorship in Organizational Change, Professor and Chair for the Department of Management at the Trulaske College of Business, as her mentor.

Dr. Turban said, "Sarah is a student truly deserving this high honor. She is an impressive student, from her leadership approach to her philanthropic engagement on campus. She is an excellent leader, always bringing a positive, creative, and passionate approach to her role."

The following Trulaske College of Business students were also named to the 2012 Mizzou '39 class:

Morgan Schmit is a senior at the Trulaske College of Business majoring in business administration with an emphasis in finance and economics. She selected Mr. Aaron Cook, Coordinator of Recruitment and Retention for Undergraduate Advising in the Trulaske College of Business, as her mentor.

Adrienne Hoffman is a senior at the Trulaske College of Business majoring in business marketing.

T.J. Moe is a junior at the Trulaske College of Business majoring in business management.

Cole Donelson is a senior at the University of Missouri, majoring in strategic communications in the School of Journalism and business management at the Trulaske College of Business.
