About this Event
The
American Marketing Association (AMA) Sheth Foundation Doctoral
Consortium is primarily a professional development and networking
conference for advanced doctoral students in marketing. Participation
in the Doctoral Consortium is by invitation only, and each of the
invited business schools is asked to nominate one doctoral student (known as the "Consortium Fellow").
The 2008
Doctoral Consortium brought together about one hundred
doctoral students from leading
business schools in the U.S., Canada, and many international
locations with about one hundred distinguished faculty who are
thought leaders in the academic discipline of marketing. The program offered presentations and workshops at the forefront
of marketing scholarship as well as numerous opportunities for
Consortium faculty and fellows to interact and share information with
colleagues from around the world. This collaborative effort between
experienced and new scholars provided vital insights for bridging diverse research and teaching perspectives.
The History
The
first annual AMA Doctoral Consortium was held in 1966. The addition of
'Sheth' to the Consortium name recognizes the generosity of Professor
Jagdish Sheth and his commitment to finance part of the Consortium on
an ongoing basis through the Madhuri and Jagdish N. Sheth Foundation.
The Site
