Admission
Requirements for Admissions to MAcc Program
Only a very few exceptional students (two, last year) from other universities are accepted into the MAcc portion of the 150-Hour Program. Admission decisions are made in the spring and summer for fall admissions only. Applications are due by March 15; admission is competitive and based on space availability. To be considered for acceptance into the MAcc program, a student must present the following minimum credentials. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Admission is competitive and based on space availability.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in accountancy or the equivalent (students with bachelor's degrees in non-accounting areas may enter the MAcc program after completing an appropriate set of "prerequisite" courses),
- Grade point average of at least 3.5 (A=4.0) for the last 60 hours of undergraduate education, and
- A 75th percentile (or higher) score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), including a 50th percentile (or higher) score on the verbal section.
- Students whose native language is not English must submit a TOEFL score. We do not recommend applications from individuals scoring less than 600 (or 250 on the computer-based test or 100 on Internet-based test) on the TOEFL.
In addition to the minimum requirements listed above, other factors such as a student's statement of objectives (required as part of the on-line application) and recommendation letters may also be considered to the extent that they provide indications of a student's ability to be successful in the MAcc program.
