Admission

Requirements for Admissions to MAcc Program

Only a very few exceptional students (two, last year) from other universities are accepted into the MAcc portion of the 150-Hour Program. Admission decisions are made in the spring and summer for fall admissions onlyApplications are due by March 15; admission is competitive and based on space availability. To be considered for acceptance into the MAcc program, a student must present the following minimum credentials. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.  Admission is competitive and based on space availability.

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in accountancy or the equivalent (students with bachelor's degrees in non-accounting areas may enter the MAcc program after completing an appropriate set of "prerequisite" courses),

  2. Grade point average of at least 3.5 (A=4.0) for the last 60 hours of undergraduate education, and

  3. A 75th percentile (or higher) score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), including a 50th percentile (or higher) score on the verbal section.

  4. Students whose native language is not English must submit a TOEFL score. We do not recommend applications from individuals scoring less than 600 (or 250 on the computer-based test or 100 on Internet-based test) on the TOEFL.

In addition to the minimum requirements listed above, other factors such as a student's statement of objectives (required as part of the on-line application) and recommendation letters may also be considered to the extent that they provide indications of a student's ability to be successful in the MAcc program.
