Dear prospective PhD student:

Thank you for your interest in the PhD program in Accountancy or Business Administration at the University of Missouri-Columbia. As a major academic unit in one of the nation's leading research universities, the College of Business is committed to providing a top-quality education for careers in teaching and research. We are very proud of our select, rigorous PhD programs and the academic and professional preparation they provide.

A carefully designed curriculum is the focal point of both PhD programs. Beyond the required seminars, you will be able to take courses to pursue one or more areas that match your particular interests. You will also be directly involved with the research and teaching activities of the college. Further, you will have the opportunity to attend and participate in a broad spectrum of academic experiences outside the classroom (including lectures by leading researchers and executives, symposia, seminars, and discussion groups), each of which will contribute to your intellectual and professional development.

The College of Business faculty consists of productive researchers and effective teachers who take an active interest in the PhD programs and the progress of PhD students. We hope you will seriously consider - and apply to - either of the college's PhD programs.
