Greeting from Dean Walker
Welcome to another issue of Mizzou Business Online.  This issue pays particular attention to various opportunities our students have had in recent months to enhance their education both in and outside the classroom.  In a sentence, we want the professional development experiences of our students outside the classroom to match the rigor and innovation that the college’s faculty members provide to students in their classes. 
 
Based on observing and assessing varied educational activities almost daily, I can state – without hesitation or doubt – that we have students, faculty, staff, and programs that are equal to the world-class quality of Cornell Hall.  Being as objective as I can be, I believe our “people and programs” are stronger now than they have been for a very long time, perhaps forever.
 
Consider just one area – the set of college-sponsored professional development activities.  College of Business students benefit in many different ways from:

      • our Speakers Series and guest lecturers
      • various forms of mentoring
      • leadership and diversity conferences
      • business-plan and case competitions
      • a myriad of student organizations
      • field trips to learn about companies
      • career-preparation and job-search guidance

And this is just one facet of our, I mean, your college!  I absolutely believe that students are receiving a superb educational experience at Mizzou’s College of Business. 

All we do would not be possible without the involvement of generous alumni, friends, and business partners who share their time and expertise and, in many cases, also make financial donations to the college.  We are truly grateful for your support.
