Acceptance into the Academy
- Student Applicants complete an essay that discusses E-ship experiences and goals
- Competitive: based on essay, academic records and extracurricular activities
Benefits of Academy Membership
- $1,000 scholarship per year (renewable)
- Adademy membership is a four-year opportunity
- Learn from like-minded peers and mentors about developing entrepreneurial characteristics and creative problem-solving skills
- Learn from both inside and outside the classroom what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur
Academy Participation
- Commit to 8 to 10 hours of E-ship coursework
- Options
- Entrepreneurship Freshman Interest Group (1 credit hour)
- Enterprise Conception (3 credit hours)
- Enterprise Design (3 credit hours)
- Enterprise Operation (3 credit hours)
- E-ship Theory and Practice (elective, 3 credit hours)
- Entrepreneurial Topics in Business (2 credit hours)
- Serve as peer facilitators for Freshman Interest Groups focused on Entrepreneurship as a junior or serve in a leadership role in an entrepreneurship organization
- Commit to leadership or coordination roles in other extracurricular activities
- E-ship concept competition
- Participate in regional business planning competitions
- Attend Columbia Small Business Expo
- E-ship seminars/guest speakers
- Student run businesses
- Participate in one 10-week summer internship
- Engage in the College of Business Speakers Series
