Joe Hegger is the director of the Jeffrey E. Smith Institute of Real Estate, at the Trulaske College of Business. As director, he teaches real estate courses, arranges and coordinates student internships with real estate firms, works with the faculty to further develop the college’s real estate emphasis area, and interacts with professionals in the real estate industry. In addition, he oversees the Smith Institute’s annual real estate forum. Joe came back to Mizzou this past November from the commercial real estate industry and most recently served as principal and senior vice president at Colliers Turley Martin Tucker in St. Louis, where he spent 19 years. He most recently supervised the firm’s Corporate Operations Group, and in addition, was responsible for the operation of the Real Estate Management Services Group, the largest third-party provider of management services in the Central United States. Joe received his BS BA degree from MU, and he has maintained strong ties to the college by serving on the Crosby MBA Program Advisory Board and previously on the college’s Strategic Planning Team. In addition, in 2006, Joe was presented with the college’s highest honor, the Alumni Citation of Merit. Joe and his wife, Stacey, who is also an MU graduate, are members of the college’s Davenport Society.
