Turn on the camera/microphone power switch located at the right end of the counter in 103E.
Turn on the TV and VCR for the room you wish to use for your recording. The TVs have a label on them showing the room they monitor.
Check the TV to see that it is on Channel 3.
Check the VCR to see that the “L” shows in it’s round window. If it does not, use the channel +/- button on it’s remote to change the channels until it appears.
Turn up the volume on the TV with it’s remote.
You should now see an image on the TV and hear the audio from the room.
If you do not see an image press the TV/VCR button on the VCR remote.
You should now see an image and hear audio.
Insert a tape into the VCR and press the Record & Play buttons on it’s remote.
If more that one room is being recorded simultaneously, use the headphone that is attached to the TV. Plugging it in will turn off the TV speaker.
At the end of the day, the Camera/Mic. Switch should be turned off to minimize wear and tear on the systems.
Use this guide as a check list in numerical order for proper operation of the system.
