TOM WELLS, JR. received his BSBA (Marketing) degree from Mizzou in 1990 and subsequently completed his MBA studies at the University of St. Thomas in 1995. Tom has spent the majority of his 20 year professional career in escalating positions of responsibility in operations, sales, marketing, and research & development. As Leggett & Platt’s corporate Director of Engineering Strategy & Technical Support, Tom is responsible for the strategic alignment of engineering and technical resources to the overall business strategy of each operational segment. He also has the creative responsibility for the product development and performance testing activities of Leggett’s Global Bedding Group. Serving on the senior corporate staff at Leggett’s IDEA Center, Tom also chairs the company’s engineering council and supervises the C-level reporting of the corporation’s innovation pipeline. An avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman and world traveler, Tom spends his free time with his wife, Wendy and sons Noah and Aaron enjoying nature, Scouting, playing golf, and serving as youth leader in his church.
