KATIE ESSING, CMD, is the Senior General Manager for Columbia and Capital Malls, owned and managed by General Growth Properties. Previously, Katie was Group Vice President of Marketing for General Growth, overseeing properties in Minnesota, Missouri, Kentucky, Michigan, Iowa, and Illinois. Katie has also held the role of Marketing Director at Columbia Mall. Before joining General Growth, Katie was a buyer for Famous Barr Department Stores, a division of May Company. She received her degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia – College of Business in 1996. Katie is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Broadway Christian Church and the Columbia Country Club. She enjoys spending time with her boys: husband, Blake and sons, Alexander and Andrew.
