Jana Blackman is chair of the International Real Estate Practice Group and a member of the management committee of Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal, a global law firm of more than 700 attorneys. Her practice focuses on affordable housing and community development. Ms. Blackman is one of the nation’s foremost experts in the field of tax credits including low income, historic and new market tax credits.

Sam Zell, chairman of six public companies as well as of his own private company, Equity Group Investments, recently sold Equity Office Properties Trust to The Blackstone Group for $39 billion. The transaction represented the largest private buyout in history. Equity Group Investments was the originating company for Equity Office, as well as for Equity Residential Properties Trust and Equity Lifestyle Properties, the latter three of which are still listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

On April 2 2007, Mr. Zell reached an agreement to purchase the renowned media giant, Tribune Company - the owner of the L.A. Times, the Chicago Tribune, and the Chicago Cubs baseball team.
