In addition, he served as chair of the Department of Management from 1984 to 1988 and as associate dean from 1990 to 1992. Slusher also consulted with a variety of business firms.

A Missouri native, Slusher earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from MU, an MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and then a PhD from the University of Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, two children, and four grandchildren.

"Those of us in the Department of Management have lost a good friend” said Allen Bluedorn, chair of the Department of Management. “We feel we lost him twice: first when he retired due to Alzheimer’s, and again when he passed away. We all miss him tremendously."
