Mark Burkhart, a College of Business alumnus (BS BA '76), and Ken Evans,
associate dean and Pinkney C. Walker Professor of Teaching Excellence, were
among 18
outstanding faculty members and alumni who
received the MU Alumni Association's (MUAA) Faculty-Alumni Award for 2005.
Established in 1968, the awards program brings recognition to individuals
who have distinguished themselves through
professional achievements, community involvement, and various forms of contributions
to the University of Missouri.

Former MU College of Business professor E. Allen Slusher III passed away
on Oct. 19, 2005, after an extended battle with Alzheimer's. For 20 years,
Slusher was a valuable faculty member and
administrator as well as a caring colleague in the college.

Dean Bruce Walker presented a medallion to Ratti Ratneshwar, Bailey K. Howard
World Book Chair in Marketing, as his wife, Shuba, was greeted by Chancellor
Brady Deaton.

The Herbert J. Davenport Society welcomed 21 new members and honored current
members' generous donations and ongoing commitment to the College of Business
at its 2005 annual banquet.

In September, MU announced that it had surpassed its $600 million goal for the For All We Call Mizzou
capital campaign. In turn, the steering committee for the campaign along with Chancellor Deaton
announced that this historic fund-raising endeavor would continue for three more years with a new goal
of $1 billion.

About
the College
The MU College of Business, founded in 1914, enrolls more
than 3,800 undergraduate students and over 300 graduate
students. The college has four academic units – Accountancy,
Finance, Management, and Marketing – with 61 full-time
faculty members. The college offers an undergraduate degree
in business administration, an MBA degree, a 150-hour program
that confers both undergraduate and master’s degrees
in accountancy, and PhD degrees in both accountancy and
business administration.
The College of Business takes great pride in its graduates.
About 30,000 alumni are contributing their expertise to
the public and private sectors in every state in the U.S.
and in a host of foreign countries.
