Students Attend Symposium for Student Investors Six MU Students attended the RISE (Redefining Strategy Investment
Education) Symposium in Dayton, Ohio March 30 through April 1.
They are some of the more than 100 participants and over 100 colleges
attending the event that included keynote speakers, workshops,

MU Professor Elected to be President
of Eastern Finance Association
Dr. Stephen Ferris, director of the Financial Research Institute
and J.H. Rogers Chair of Money, Credit and Banking, was recently
elected to be the next president of the Eastern Finance Association.
He will serve a one-year appointment in this position, beginning
in April 2006.

Student
Investors Achieve Impressive Returns As part of their Finance 4201 class, some College of Business
seniors will help allocate over $68,000 in the Truman Tracy fund.
This money, donated almost 40 years ago, is proving to be a valuable
learning tool for students at MU. “[The fund] provided a forum
for me to learn and do research as well as make an actionable decision,” said

Turley Martin Tucker Funds Faculty Scholar Position
Finance Professor David A. West Selected for Honor Colliers
Turley Martin Tucker (CTMT), a commercial real-estate firm, with
the help of some of the firm’s partners, decided to fund a faculty
scholar position. This position, named the CTMT Scholar, is assigned
in the College of Business to an exceptional finance faculty

About
the College
The MU College of Business, founded in 1914, enrolls more
than 3,600 undergraduate students and over 300 graduate students.
The college has four academic units – Accountancy, Finance,
Management, and Marketing – with 51 full-time faculty members.
The college offers an undergraduate degree in business administration,
an MBA degree, a 150-hour program that confers both undergraduate
and master’s degrees in accountancy, and PhD degrees in both
accountancy and business administration.
The College of Business takes great pride in its graduates.
About 30,000 alumni are contributing their expertise to the
public and private sectors in every state in the U.S. and in
a host of foreign countries.
