New Faculty Members Arrive in Columbia

The Department of Finance has added two full-time faculty members and one visiting professor. The School of Accountancy augmented its faculty with the addition of three full-time adjunct faculty members. “It is vital that new tenure-track faculty members are energetic and skillful in both teaching and research. Our two additions, Paul Brockman and Sandra Mortal, certainly possess those attributes,” said Dan French, chair of the Department of Finance. Read More

 

Awards and Honors Given to Faculty and Staff

Three College of Business faculty and staff members – Jere Francis, KPMG Distinguished Research Professor of Accountancy; David West, professor of finance; and Phyllis Moore, senior academic advisor – received significant honors in September.  “These awards are further evidence of how skilled and dedicated the college’s faculty and staff members are. I am so pleased that Jere, David, and Phyllis have received much deserved recognition,” said Dean Bruce Walker. Read More

College Mourns Loss of Prominent Alumnus

Robert J. Trulaske, Sr., who graduated from MU in 1940 with an undergraduate degree in business, passed away on September 25. Mr. Trulaske was a decorated veteran, a distinguished business leader and, a generous contributor to the MU College of Business. Read More

 
 

Alum Harvey Eisen Speaks at Corporate Roundtable

On October 21, the MU College of Business participated in the Mizzou Corporate Roundtable, a semiannual forum for members of the St. Louis business community. Harvey Eisen, chairman of Bedford Oak Advisors, was the featured speaker. After his presentation about the economy and stock market, titled “Uncertainty at a Peak?”, Eisen answered questions from the audience. Read More

Davenport Society Welcomes New Members

This year’s celebration of The Herbert J. Davenport Society was truly unique. Rather than being held in the traditional ballroom setting, the Society’s members and guests came together in the Jeffrey Clinton Club Room in MU’s Paige Sports Arena. About the College

The MU College of Business, founded in 1914, enrolls more than 3,700 undergraduate students and over 300 graduate students. The college has four academic units – Accountancy, Finance, Management, and Marketing – with 54 full-time faculty members. The college offers an undergraduate degree in business administration, an MBA degree, a 150-hour program that confers both undergraduate and master’s degrees in accountancy, and PhD degrees in both accountancy and business administration.

The College of Business takes great pride in its graduates. About 30,000 alumni are contributing their expertise to the public and private sectors in every state in the U.S. and in a host of foreign countries.
